Helicopter Transmission components manufactured from AMS6265(9310) and AMS6308 Pyrowear materials. Carburized and ground case depths of .080-.100 on the flats and .015-.030 case depths on the journal diameters. Ground tolerances of .0002 parallel on flats, with .0003 flat to flat and a 20 micro-finish. Processing includes heat treat, carburize (up to 3x), copper plate, shot peen and cadmium plate.
Engine Output Shafts for helicopter transmission and Torque Sensor Shafts for aircraft engines manufactured from AMS6265 and Nitralloy 135 materials. Most shafts are carburized or nitrided and ground, requiring dynamic balancing. Many rotate at 6,000 – 25,000 RPM’s. Some are 8 pc assemblies with special calibration and/or torque requirements, hole locations are held within .001 true position to the spline or gear pitch diameter. Processing includes heat treat, brazing, carburizing or nitride, copper plate, shot peen, phosphate, cadmium and silver plate.
Aircraft engine and helicopter gears manufactured from AMS6265 (9310) and AMS6308 Pyrowear and Stainless Steel materials. Carburized and ground pinion, quill, spur, azimuth and housing gears with some thin webs needing specially designed quench dies for heat treat. Pinion gears requiring a 4 micro-finish for the bearing diameters and sets held within .002. Most parts are dynamically balanced and processing includes heat treat, carburize (up to 2x), copper plate, shot peen, phosphate, cadmium and silver plate.
Three Piece Assembly. 7″ dia. x 57″ long consisting of two nitrided, crowned and ground gears held within .0015 involute crown and .0008 total index error. Then inertia welded to a maraging steel center section. Ultrasonic waviness testing, FPI, phosphate and paint.

75+ YEARS OF PRECISION EXCELLENCE
Founded in the years following World War II, Precision Gear Industries began as a small machine shop serving the emerging aerospace industry. Over 75 years, we’ve evolved into a modern, vertically integrated aerospace manufacturer, combining state-of-the-art CNC technology with the precision craftsmanship and expertise that built our reputation.
Throughout our history, we’ve remained committed to innovation and quality, adapting to the changing needs of the aerospace and defense sectors while maintaining the hands-on approach that has always defined us. From our earliest days producing critical components for pioneering aircraft to today’s advanced aerospace systems, we’ve been there at every stage of aviation’s evolution.
Today, Precision Gear Industries is a trusted partner to leading aerospace manufacturers worldwide. We produce flight-critical components—from helicopter main rotor shafts to close-tolerance gears—where precision isn’t just our name, it’s our promise and our legacy.
